Olivia's birthday!

Our sweet  Olivia turned 5!  I can't believe she is getting so old!  She is so smart and is such a sweetheart!  She loves her little sister and is such a big helper!

First Days of School

So we had a few different first days of school this year.  Christopher started first as he is teaching 1 class and 2 labs at the University this semester, then a week later Ryan started first grade, then a week after that Olivia started preschool as she missed the deadline for Kindergarten by 10 days, and then after some care finagling I was able to get Olivia into K12 which is a home school public school so she started Kindergarten, but is also doing preschool for the social aspect!

10 Year High School Reunion

Christopher and I had our 10 year high school reunion in August.  Unfortunately it was Christopher's weekend to be in Texas for his masters program so he didn't come with me,  but I had fun without him!  We had an adult dinner and then the next day we had a family day at Bear Lake.   It was so much fun and I loved catching up with "old" friends whenever we get together it is just like old times!  And my mother-in-law was awesome enough to watch my kiddos so I didn't have to worry about them.  Again I suck at getting pictures so I am sniping some from friends!  Also just want to give a thanks to those who made it possible I am sure it was so much work and I am grateful that you were willing to do it!

Almost everyone that came it looks like some left before the picture was taken.

My girls can't even tell you how much I love these people!  We missed you Kaiann!

This group of people is why I miss High School,  people often give me a weird look when I say that I loved High School but it is because of these people that I did.  (and my cute husband who would have been in this picture if he were there)

 Keeping it real!

After the dinner was over a bunch of us went out to the deck and just talked and laughed forever.  Love these guys!

At the Bear Lake!  Look at all of us brave girls with little ones and not afraid to wear swim suits!

Emily's Blessing

Emily was blessed on July 3, 2011.  Christopher gave  her a beautiful blessing.  He blessed her with a love for learning and for music.  We had so much family there to support us and it was wonderful.  I didn't get a lot of pictures but my mom and mother-in-law did I just didn't get any from them yet so I will snipe some from their blogs and facebook but might post more eventually!

This is a picture of all of our family who came to the blessing.  We used a camera timer and we all squished in!!  Camille and the babies were MIA but we will forgive them since they were a little bit young to be hauled all over the place!

This is the only picture I got of Emily in her whole blessing outfit.  I was planning on putting her in it another day and talking pictures but she has grown and probably doesn't fit into it now!
One more pic of her she fell asleep right after we got home and then we changed her before any other pictures got taken so this is it!

Imported Blog

So I just integrated the baby blog that I had set up for Emily into this blog,  I originally had made that blog just so that I could "tell"  about the baby before we were really telling anyone.  So lovely thing that blogger is it let me import all of the posts from that blog into my regular family blog and I will now be deleting the old one.  So if you missed out on that one you can go to September thru May on this blog and find the additional posts that are now part of this blog.  If that made sense to anyone I am impressed but hopefully you get the basic gist of it!

Emily Christine Wertz May 25, 2011

So obviously I suck at blogging still maybe someday I will be good at it but for now I will just try and be better! This is a fairly long wordy post (but I did leave out the gory details) mostly for my own journaling purposes so if you want to you can skip to the pictures at the bottom!
So as the title makes obvious our baby girl was born just over 2 months ago.   Long story kind of short.  I was induced on Wednesday May 25 at 5am (ya nuts)  they had me all checked in and hooked up by 6 and then it was just time to wait!  At 8am my Dr came in to check me and I was at the exact same as I had been on Monday (actually it seemed less effaced than I had been on Monday).  So at 8 the Dr broke my water and the fun started.  By about 10 I was thinking holy cow this hurts more than I remember and I asked the nurse if I could have some drugs just to take the edge of because I didn't want an epidural yet as I knew it was still going to be a long time before the baby got there.  Also I was in contact with my mom but she was teaching that day so she was planning on leaving Bear Lake at about 12 figuring she would be there in plenty of time for the arrival.   So back to getting some drugs the nurse told me that the epidural guy was actually on his way up so if I could just wait a little bit that they would just do that.  I figured okay I can handle it I mean I figure I was at maybe a 4 at this point and I could handle it.  So the epidural guy came in and got me all hooked up (in 1 try mind you which is difficult for a person with a back as screwed up as mine.)  So now that I am feeling all happy and mostly numbed the nurse checks me and is very surprised to find out that I am at an 8. (no wonder it was hurting so bad)  So she calls the dr to let him know and low and behold my mom walks in.  Thankfully the woman that was subbing for her was already at the school and told her to just go so she wouldn't be so antsy and thankfully my mom listened otherwise she would have missed it. (I love people that listen to that still small voice)  So my Dr didn't answer so they left a message and he called back 20 min later so my nurse checks me again so she can give the Dr up to date #s and I am at a 10,  so the nurse turns the Pitiocin off and the Dr hurries to the hospital.  It is about 11:10ish when he gets there and in the most calm delivery I have ever had our little girl comes into the world.  Our Dr was great and so calming we were having conversations in between contractions and pushing,  it was awesome.  Anyways so she came and was perfect cried for just long enough for us not to worry about her and then was completely calm.  After a little bit of looking at her and being out numbered on the name thing we decided to name her Emily Christine (that happened to be the only name we even came close to agreeing on)  She was born at 11:21am and was 8lbs 8oz and 21 inches long.  She is such a good baby and super cute she has dark brown hair, what we think will be brown eyes (although they are still deciding)  and a beautiful olive skin.  She looks a lot like her big sister.  Anyway so that is the not so short story and here are some pictures.
